People only post when they're disgruntled. Oh - and Waves customer service is excellent, the times I've had to use it in the past. Otherwise - any company that doesn't get things right first time is operating a "scam". I don't think anyone would argue the OP isn't due a solution.
I understand maybe not for someone who's a hobbyist. Personally I have no issues with subscriptions for something as ubiquitous as my DAW, it's been great for me with the updates and so on. I don't think Avid have handled their subscription model clearly, but there is some effort to give people a choice - it's just been a bit clunky. Most people have no issues at all, and most people moaning about WUP don't really understand it - they call it a "yearly fee" when it really isn't. If its yours, you should be allowed.Hmm.

I can't create a support ticket because you need to enter a system ID I called customer support, but their automated message says they are not taking calls about licensing and activation right now and referred me to the support option on the Avid site.

I can go to their download center and download it, but since it's not showing up in My Products, I can't see the license, or serial number, or System ID, and don't see how to activate it anyway. The software is not showing up in the My Products section of my Avid account. So I just updated my computer to Catalina and purchased a subscription to Pro Tools, coming from a perpetual license from a few years ago.
